The UCI disputed the claims of a positive test and, as Armstrong keeps pointing out, he never has been cited for failing a drug test. ********************* What we don't know is if those words came from the author or the Armstrong camp. Regardless, they are a big change from "I've never tested positive." to "never been cited for failing a drug test". |

What do people really care about, beyond the obvioius? "Did Lance dope during the 7 years he won the Tour de France?" Of course, that question may never be answered. Instead, we may (and there's no certainty of this, despite B Lafferty's assertions) get the answer to "Will Lance be convicted of doping, or proven innocent, in court?" Never mind the semantics of "proven" innocent. It's just the way the system works, as far as I know. --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReaction.com Redwood City & Los Altos, CA USA |

The WSJ writers who first broke this story were the first ones to make that distinction in writing. And it's the only correct one because Lance failed all those EPO tests in the '99 Tour de France. Lance was taking more EPO than Jeanson.
