For some reason I have a fear of going to rubber, like I'll purposely
not try to make it. Have you ever felt that?

I'm finding there is a large mental component to trials riding.
Believe it or not, your state of mind has an impact on your physical
abilities. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that you can't "go
big" when your mind is holding you back.

If you believe you can't make a hop, you won't. If you believe you can
make a hop, you've got a much better chance. Fear and doubt will kill
your hops! Put them out of your mind.

Mind control is something that is hard to practice, but riding practice
will bolster your confidence, which in turn reduces your fear.

Yea I know. But I found out why I have such a big mental block, its
because I was raised extremely safe. The other day I found out my dad
wouldn't let me go down the slide until I was 5. I've been riding for
over a year, practicing all the time, and I still don't have a 4 pallet
side hop consistent. I've done it over and over again, but somedays I'll
go out there and I see it as something I can't do.
