Hi,

As most of you may know by now, the BUC is being planned for the 3rd -
5th October. I'm not sure if it has officially been announced yet -
perhaps in Uni magazine. There is a website here that gives some
details http://www.unicycle.org.uk/buc15/ - I'm sure Anna can enlighten
us on the details.

Anyway the relevance to our hockey competition is that I suspect
several teams will not want to attend 2 long distance events on
consecutive weekends. I am tempted to cancel the 27th but I thought I
would ask for a show of hands quickly - if anyone has a strong opinion
then please respond ASAP.

I am trying to avoid a situation where we only have a few teams
attending the first league match and then watering down the league for
the rest of the year. Ideally, the first league match should be
attended by all teams who will be regular competitors throughout the
year.

It may be possible to make the first league meeting part of the BUC but
this hasn't even been discussed with BUC organisers yet.

Any comments?

The tournament is postponed until after BUC. We're sorry to have to do
it, but we want to avoid a poorly attended tournament, particularly as
it would be the first tournament of the new season.

We will announce the new date when we have it.

Thats a real shame, however we'll look forward to the rearranged date
and its probably best to get a good turn out as that always makes for
better hockey. Still that means that the last opportunity for a pre BUC
hockey tune up is the EMU scratch and refereeing tournament on Saturday
6th september details can be found 'here'
