Hi,
I bought some ergoshift levers on ebay (Centaur) and a rear derailleur (Chorus 10speed) which some would say is a waste as I plan to put them on my old steel commuter (which is outfitted with mid 80's Suntour (great stuff for its day I think as it's still going strong). It's really sad for me as I would have preferred to keep it all original spec but in keeping with Boyle's Law I replaced the brake callipers, (couldn't buy pads anymore) and things kind of spread out from there. Sorry the question after all that is, now that I have an entire new Campag compatible drivetrain incl rims, chain etc, can I get away with keeping my old friction shift front Suntour ARX derailleur, or should I plan on getting a new 10 speed one of those too? The only other question is whether or not it is easy to obtain a cable stop for the down tube to run the cables properly (if I am lucky I might be able to cover the hole where the shifters are on the down tube with this)? Many thanks for any thoughts you may have on this. CN |
