WANTED: CYCLING ADVICE

Hi there,

I am planning to cycle from Freeport, IL to Carbondale, IL this fall.
I was wondering if anyone has done this route and/or has any advice or
recommendations for what roads to take/not take, good places to stop
and any other useful information.

Other than the Hennepin / I&M system (which Kristian mentioned)
there's no formal trail help.

http://www.bikelib.org/mapstrails/trailslist.htm is an overview map
of trails, but the overview map isn't to scale (the Piniteoui trail
looks substantial on the map, but is really only 5 miles long).

You might try CrazyGuyOnABike.com and sort through the many
Carbondale mentions.
