...............To the general public, American cycling had Lance Armstrong,
it had Tyler Hamilton of Marblehead, Mass., and it had ... it had ... well,
somebody else must do this, right?
Landis' victory is the stuff of which movies are made, a Seabiscuit on
wheels. I'm happy for Tiger Woods, too, another classy champion across the
pond, as they say.

But Tiger, you're an oldie but goodie in the headline department. Been
there, won that.

Floyd, this day is yours.

Landis appears to be everything an American star on the global stage should
be. He's hard-working, respectful and humble, but also kind of fun. Even the
French like this guy. .................

Well, the French liked the Germans too and even planted trees so they
could march in the shade.

That's nice article.

Last year it was said that cycling in the US would diminish with
Armstrong's retirement. I think Floyd may have just prevented that from
happening.

Armstrong may have been an inspirational story, but at least people can
relate to Floyd. He's an 'aw, shucks', kind of guy, who eats
hamburgers and drinks beer. Sounds like the kind of guy you'd like to
hang out with.

Bill,

You may have to explain to some of our less than enlightened friends
what frog giggin' is.

The anti-racism/nationalism/whateverexemplar is now bragging about how
many Germans his country killed. Gee, I'm just getting pumped for the
part when I can brag about the firebombing of Tokyo.

What a ****ing stupid thread this has become.

What'd they do? Throw more peasants into the breach. You'll remember who stepped
in and pulled your ass out of that mess.

In 1940 ? I don't remember any GI's

I remember more a connection between Americans Cies ( Ford, IBM, Essen,
Bush) and Hitler.

In 1914 ? I don't remember any GI's also.

Time for you to open the eyes.

Now, dear friend, as we know, you and history ...
